Teamster Debate a Victory for Leedham Against Hoffa Stand-In
Teamster presidential candidate Tom Leedham debated on Sept. 21 with stand-in Chuck Mack, as James Hoffa bailed out. Hoffa refused alternate dates to answer questions for Teamster members, instead choosing to attend fundraisers for himself. In his closing comments, Leedham stated, "Hoffa promised to come today to defend his record. But he broke that promise. Maybe that's because his record is indefensible."

Challenger Hopes to Upset Teamsters President in Vote
As the Teamsters union mailed ballots to its 1.4 million members last week, Tom Leedham, an Oregon Teamsters leader, insisted that he had a good chance to defeat the union's president, James P. Hoffa, when the ballots were counted next month.
Arguing that Mr. Hoffa has not done enough to improve wages and benefits, Mr. Leedham's campaign aides say that many Teamsters are unhappy with Mr. Hoffa and that Mr. Leedham will deliver a big surprise when the votes are tallied...
